CND™ Shellac™ EPIC Smoothing Base | For a perfectly smooth, strong base with long-lasting adhesion

CND™ Shellac™ EPIC Smoothing Base is a true 2-in-1 base coat and smoothing layer, specially developed to enhance the adhesion of CND™ Shellac™, visibly smooth the natural nail surface and ensure long wear.

Whether you choose a classic application for healthy nails or build with an apex for added protection on weaker nails, this base gives you flexibility and results.

How to use

  1. Clean and prep the nail as usual.
  2. Gently roll the bottle between the palms to mix the contents.
  3. For a base coat: Apply a thin layer to the nail plate and cure under the CND™ LED lamp (1 minute, button 2S).
  4. For a build layer: Apply slightly more product and use gravity to create a soft apex.
  5. Cure as above.
  6. Continue with your chosen CND™ Shellac™ colour and finish with top coat.


Removal: EPIC Smoothing Base uses GLIDE-OFF REMOVAL™ technology. The colour lifts first, then the base dissolves — no filing needed.

  • For standard application: soak off for 10 minutes
  • For apex or thicker layer: soak off for 15 minutes


Use CND™ Foil Remover Wraps with CND™ Offly Fast™, wrap securely around the nail, twist off, and remove residue with a lint-free pad.
